John is still trailing after Rodney hours after the herb should have worn off and Rodney worries that he took too much. It had seemed like a good idea at the time, but after the others had cornered him and told him to burn the rest, he had started feeling a little guilty.

"You know," John pipes up and Rodney stiffens. "I like you."

Rodney spins around and a discontent feeling floods him. The words hurt when John doesn't mean them. Can't mean them. He's shocked to see John's smug grin as he faces him.

"You didn't need the herb." Rodney gapes as John ushers him along with a nudge of his shoulder.
